Our Target Company

Partial buyouts typically involve stock purchases from legacy investors, passive shareholders or in some cases management as well. We also make full acquisitions from transitioning owners or family businesses. Most of our investments also involve growth capital alongside a buyout.
We focus on companies across Upstate NY. From Buffalo to Albany, Binghamton to Watertown. From the Adirondacks to the Hudson Valley to the Allegheny.
We are more focused on profitability than revenue. Our sweet spot is profitable businesses with greater than $500K in discretionary earnings or EBITDA. Since company profitability is typically not public knowledge, we generally find that companies which are a good fit tend to be between $1M - $10M in revenue. We do consider companies above $10M in revenue depending on other factors.
We like businesses that are clearly differentiated from competitors due to unique resources, internal talent, and/or business model. We are not investors seeking to buy platform companies for a roll-up strategy.
Our focus is B2B companies including contract manufactures of B2C products. We will occasionally consider B2C companies depending on the business model and existing sales channels.
We are largely agnostic to industry but focus on product or business service companies. We prefer not to invest in service businesses that are consumer focused or have an hourly rate centered pricing model.
We are not a good fit for medical private practices or retail businesses.
